At The Department of Commerce I wear a variety of hats. I coordinate and conduct successful, on time satellite feeds, audio feeds and conferencing, perform visually effective ENG camera work, clear and seamless non-linear video editing and encoded information functions. I arrange technically successful news conferences, press briefings and other public information functions, and I provide web streaming of approved events on the DOC homepage with outside vendor and in house personnel. I apply 'Section 508' compliance, providing captioning for all web streams. I market and distribute Secretarial PSA's to radio and TV stations in selected markets and track their use. I pitch interviews with the Secretary to radio and TV stations in selected markets and track their use. On a weekly and monthly basis I work with the Studio Producer to provide the Deputy Director with a list of proposed broadcast media opportunities for the Secretary that will amplify his weekly/monthly priority programs and messages. I assist the Producer in preparing budget projections as needed for offsite/lighting/broadcast support services and in-house equipment purchases, making sure that procurement regulations are closely followed. I effectively track and retrieve all broadcast (TV and radio) coverage of the Secretary in a timely manner. I maintain a working database of all Secretarial coverage and archive selected footage.
