RICH FISHER'S WRNR-FM EXPERIENCE

WRNR-FM "103 RNR"
2008 - Present
WRNR "103 WRNR" is a Baltimore market station that concentrates on
the Annapolis area. They transmit from Grasonville Maryland and the studios are in
downtown Annapolis. The placement of the tower on the Eastern Shore makes the signal go a lot further than plotting maps show. By
going across the Chesapeake Bay, the signal covers from the DC Beltway (including parts of Washington DC itself), Baltimore City, up I-95
to the Delaware border. On the Eastern Shore they cover from Cambridge to Chestertown and well into Delaware. It's a very large area for a
6,000 watt signal, thanks in part to the Chesapeake!
WRNR is the 'cool' station in the area to listen to. Growing up on Long Island that 'cool' station was WLIR and I would go through
great lengths to pull their not so strong signal in. It turns out that one of the brass at WRNR come from WLIR way back when and I spent
a lot of time listening to him on there. Like WLIR was, WRNR is the station that has a huge varied music library. The format is
"Adult Album Alternative", but that doesn't mean that they are a cookie cutter station. WRNR definately has their own sound and
is very unique not only to the Baltimore market, but anywhere else too. The station has a very dedicated listener base and the
"TSL" is fantastic, meaning that people listen and keep listening for long periods of time.
At 103 WRNR I am a regular fill-in guy for the Morning Drive and I host a weekend show. Working at WRNR is just a great thing for me - It's always been the station that I listened to and I never could get a job
at because people don't leave there. After ten years of trying, I'm in!
