RICH FISHER'S WRYR-LPFM EXPERIENCE

WRYR-97.5 FM
2002 - 2004
I was the Music Director at this public radio station. I contacted record labels and got promotional material for the
station, as well as informed the labels of the station "adds". I researched new music for airplay on WRYR, and solicited
labels for music. I also wrote and recorded station P.S.A.'s and station promo's. 97.5 WRYR is a non-profit community
radio station that covers communities along the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland.
WRYR-FM is owned by the "South Arundel
Citizens for Responsible Development" (known as "S.A.C.R.e.D.") and is a volunteer public radio station.
Even though WRYR broadcasts at only
100 watts, they actually cover a pretty large area because their tower is on Tilghman Island out in the Chesapeake Bay.
WRYR went on the air in June 2002, and has quite an eclectic lineup. You can hear everything from gospel to jazz, blue
grass to punk, oldies, world music, zydeco and Celtic music. I hosted a show called "Band-with", which was a weekly
Alternative Rock / Retro Modern Rock show. Bandwidth also aired on "I-Web Radio", an online network of web-radio
stations. I ran Kent Island Radio, one of the feeds of I-Web Radio. I also acted as a technical consultant at WRYR, advising on various issues concerning the signal and equipment.
