RICH FISHER'S WWFG-FM EXPERIENCE

WWFG-99.9 FM
2002 - 2004
Clear Channel's WWFG "Froggy 99.9" is the top-rated
station in the Salisbury - Ocean City market. I did a weekends at this upbeat and fun station. "Froggy 99.9" has a huge
signal (Class-B 50KW) that clearly covers the entire market which includes Salisbury MD, Ocean City MD, Seaford DE, and
Georgetown DE. WWFG does a lot of live remotes and community appearances around the Delmarva Peninsula, and the
Program Director encourages the air staff to have a personality, and not to be card readers / liner jocks. I also had a
good deal of prizes to give out on the air, which was always a blast to do!
I learned a lot at "Froggy 99.9" and I will always be grateful for the experience of working there. It was a new format
for me, and experience working for the largest station owner (Clear Channel) in the country.
Clear Channel cut most of the part time staff, and even a bunch of full time jocks from this cluster to save money in the
off-season. I decided to find another radio job a bit closer to home ("Froggy 99.9" was a 2 hour drive) in more of a
year-round market - and landed at the MTS Broadcasting cluster in Cambridge with a
bunch of other former Clear Channel Delmarva employees.
"Froggy 99.9" has top-notch studios in a brand new facility in Salisbury. I used "Prophet" software, as well as all of
the latest technology to do a solid entertaining show.
